Indigenous Farmer
Character Profile

Proud indigenous farmer Micheal has been operating his finger lime farm since 2012 on a large farm in northern NSW. Last year, he purchased the neighbouring property to accommodate the growing demand for citrus caviar.

“My mob’s Djangadi and Gidabal. So, just over the border.” Michael’s Aboriginal heritage drives his interest in bush foods native to the area.

A passionate and dedicated horticulturalist with lots of innovative flairs, Michael has been farming and discovering sustainable ways to grow different varieties of high-grade finger lime plants.

“You can juice them, concentrate them into a powder, use the oil for baking and perfume, or eat them raw.” Says Michael.
